Growing up to 6 feet long, Viren Viren [or simply Viren] is a burrowing worm living in the caves of the shrub dotted desert where Taca's clan lives. They usually remain under the mud and sand to burrow and shield themselves from the heat and light. The Viren are passive creatures, but have been known to attack viciously if provoked. They've also been rumored to be the cause of spontaneous sinkholes occuring in the area.
Their sharp burrowing claws can sometimes be iridescent, with a quality like that of the inside of an abalone shell. The people in the area are fond of its brilliance and fashion what they find into jewelry or weaponry and armor.
